A better future for their children, a supplement to the family income in the home country or simply a safer life in the Netherlands. The FNV’s Migrant Domestic Workers, which exists as a network for 15 years, have had a variety of reasons for landing here. Without valid papers, they have sometimes been working in the Netherlands for decades. Disenfranchised and invisible. But they make an important contribution to our society and economy and would like recognition for their work. High time to get to know them better.
